About Department

Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Performing Arts started education in the 2007-2008 academic year. It consists of Acting and Drama Writing and Dramaturgy Main Art Branches, which provide a 4-year undergraduate education. Education is carried out at Mudanya Campus - Faculty of Fine Arts. Theater art, one of the Performing Arts, is a multi-dimensional, collective performing art consists of the combination of arts.  It is a living, dynamic art that extends from its actor, writer, director, dramaturge, designer to its audience. Therefore, theater education necessitates a colorful, rich, multi-dimensional, long-term discipline that is attained by going through an original education process that is national as well as universal, that focuses on people, in coordination with acting, playwriting, directing, theory, design and other performing arts. Our Performing Arts department, which consists of the main art branches of Acting and Drama Writing and Dramaturgy, has created its education program with this vision, that is, in line with an original, innovative, scientifically integrated, contemporary understanding of theater where the national and the universal intersect. The mission of our Performing Arts Department, which consist of the main art brances of Acting and Drama Writing and Dramaturgy,is to be a person who knows the importance of reaching from the national to the universal and creating a unique expression in the field of theater, who has adopted collective work as a principle, and who has a worldview and creative power. To train theater actors and writers who are open to improving their interllectual and emotional equipment and who are in and with the society. Fields of Activity of Drama Writing and Dramaturgy Main Art Branch: Subsidized Theaters (Ministry of Culture and Tourism State Theaters and City Theatres), Private Theatres, Advertisement, Cinema, Television Film, Casting Agencies, Lokal Governments-Culture Directorates and Consultancies, Indirect Units of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Educational Institutions, Public Education Institutions, Private Teaching Institutions, private institutions that consider self-expression (Play and Drama) as their basic working principles.
